She spent her early days competing around the US as an amateur and won such titles, as East Coast Champion and National Scholastic Champion three consecutive years. After high school, she attended the University of North Florida where she completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing. During college she began her training to compete on the Association of Surfing Professionals World Qualifying Series. Upon graduation she began competing internationally as a full time professional athlete. She had a peak rating of 4th in the world her first year on tour. She continued to surf the world tour for another two years, then retired to begin teaching full time and using her degree to work within the industry.
